Meet the nurse behind the nonsense 🤪😍😎
Nurse. Mentor. Mischief Maker
I’m affectionately known as Nurse Carol, My first love ,has always been making people feel better. Whether that’s through pain relief, a comforting hand, or a well-timed joke when the situation calls for it.
With over six decades in healthcare 🏥, I’ve worn many hats. From Ward Sister to running entire hospitals. I’ve worked in so many places that I sometimes wonder if I should have my own loyalty card! 😆 Think of me as a medical Mary Poppins, popping up wherever I’m needed, only instead of an umbrella, I carry a stethoscope.👩⚕️
What keeps me coming back, day after day, to help those who are scared 😟, in pain 😖, or just need to know someone’s there? It’s not the big, shiny machines that go BEEP! 🖥️ (though they do make me feel important when I press buttons). It’s the little things: puffing up pillows 🛏️, holding a trembling hand 🤝, reassuring a worried relative, and offering care with a side of humour. Because, laughter is often the best medicine (except for antibiotics… which are pretty good too).

I’ve seen it all! 🌈 From the first cry of a newborn baby With parents reacting like they’ve just won the EuroMillions 🎉to holding hands at life’s final curtain call, offering comfort like a human security blanket. 👩⚕️ From first breath to last. For me, it’s just another day in the office 🚑..Filled with laughter, tears, unforgettable moments, and the occasional projectile vomit. 😊
💪 Life’s thrown some wild plot twists my way, but I’ve never let it steal my smile! I’ve faced more medical drama than a hospital TV show—Lost loved ones far too soon, including Georgie, my daughter, at 18 to Hodgkin’s disease, Tim, my youngest son, at 34 to a sudden heart attack, and my stepson, Philip, at 32 to a rare disease.
Through it all, I’ve held onto one thing. The power of resilience, love, and finding light even in the darkest moments. Because if life insists on testing you, you might as well face it with a smile and a cup of tea! ☕💖
But despite all of this, I’ve somehow managed to raise 10 children, five of my own and five stepchildren. 😅 The house was like a cross between a daycare centre and a circus 🎪, and I wouldn’t change a thing. Goodness, the fun we had!
I may be mature 👵👵, I’m still as active and fit 💪! While I draw the line at bungee jumping (one has to have some limits), I’ve been known to take the occasional skydive 🪂Professionally, I’m a healthcare expert by nature 🏥, a skydiver by accident 🪂, and a workaholic by sheer stubbornness 🏃♀️.I’m also a fully paid-up member of the human race, a collector of single socks,🧦🤔), and I’ve not yet reached my sell-by date! 💃😂
